The Walton Works

Todd Walton is an accomplished leader with 20+ years of experience delivering programs that drive revenue, expand customer bases, and solidify loyalty for brands, organizations and companies. He founded The Walton Works based upon key understandings of the outdoor, tourism, winter sports, lifestyle, bike and adventure travel industries and associated product lifecycles. He has a natural ease in building long-term relationships with media, influencers, customers, users, partners and vendors and is sometimes known as the “Captain of Makin’ it Happen.”

He is the only person to work in-house for both Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) and Snowsports Industries America (SIA) trade associations and has worked closely with the trade show teams. Beginning in the outdoor industry on the retail floor, he decided that either being a rep or going in-house for a brand was next. Spending almost ten years at Outdoor Research, he began his tenure repairing and coordinating all warranty and returns and working into the Quality Assurance department, creating new testing and QC protocols and product improvements for the iconic brand (even making products from scratch, including a Gore-Tex jacket, a prototype bivy, and more). Stepping into the Public Relations role, he continued with product design, branding, events, sponsorship, media relations and much more for the brand, growing sales and both retailer and customer engagement. Wanting to get back to a small mountain town, he accepted the Communications Director position at Crested Butte Mountain Resort to help rebrand, leverage, and market the destination resort, including serving on the tourism board. In 2010, he founded The Walton Works, which has since morphed from a brand management and PR focus to a full-service consultancy. While occasionally serving as interim marketing manager for clients and stepping back to work in-house for organizations (including back on the retail floor), Todd's integrity leads him to the best possible partners, opportunities, and outcomes.

Todd has served on numerous Board of Directors, been a DJ and radio personality in Colorado and Idaho, is an event MC, and is passionate about being outside skiing, riding, paddling, hiking and doing pretty much anything. He loves public speaking, playing guitar in bands, and continues to learn something new every day.
